Lucas Oil Stadium District Master Plan

Indianapolis, Indiana

The Concord Community Development Corporation (CDC) commissioned Prince/Alexander to address pent up demand for housing and retail development around the new Lucas Oil Stadium and the southern border of downtown Indianapolis and IUPUI. Over a 9 months of meetings and planning sessions with neighbors, businesses, city planners and politicians it became clear that the biggest need downtown was for large numbers of rental housing. With “roof tops” come consumers and tax payers, so we focused on development concepts that brought people back to town and created a village. The project consists of: 1200 acres, 8,000 dwellings, 4 mil. S.F. industrial space, and 1.5 mil. S.F. commercial space.
