LHP Historic Post Office Renovation
Columbus, Indiana

The historic Post Office in downtown Columbus, IN had been remodeled in 1976 for use by the local school board for their offices. At the time, consideration for historic buildings was not such a high priority. Fortunately, the remodeling of the time inflicted very little damage to the interior and exterior features. LHP Software was fortunate to receive computer programming talent for China and needed housing that met the needs of young professionals just moving to the U.S. for a short period of time. Although the (18) dwelling units are modest, the large windows, high ceilings and interior features come together with industrial chic interiors to bring a very cosmopolitan aspect to downtown Columbus. Prince/Alexander served as the architect and construction manager. Completed in 2009, the building now houses 18 dwelling units with 3,500 square feet of commercial space.
